I went to my database and found one of my mums who i know runs several playgroups and sent her an email saying

We need your playgroup!!! (subject)

Email was a postcard stating that Brag needs a playgroup to model for us for this brand new concept i want to put together for playgroups and childcares.
Stated model release must be signed by all children participating as their images may or may not be used in several different forms of marketing materials and on the web.
No compensation would be offered other than the right to Brag about it! and if i used their child image in the marketing material i would provide them with copies to put into their
portfolio or their keepsake box.
If mums are interested to purchase we will offer our regular packages with a special model bonus from the new product range.

Nicole told her playgroup the very next day, 6 mums, plus Nicole, 9 kids ranging from 3 weeks to 4yrs, all girls except 2 boys. One mum offered her home as they thought it would be the best location as she has
lots of play equipment, nice gardens etc. ( is an hour away from our studio)

So we have our first portrait party that came from a model call- i emailed back thanks to the mum for offering her house, named her the Portrait Party Queen, suggested they make a party out of it, and told Nic that at the end of the
shoots i will put together a slideshow of all the great shots and funny out-takes and we can all sit back and oh and ah and have some laughs. I also told her this will be our first portrait party test run and all these mums have offered to give feedback after the day. I luv that they are all so into it and so willing to give their input.

I'm so excited
Nicole is the playgroup co-ordinator for this area, they have 3 playgroup sessions per day- so this will lead to lots more work

envelopes are from envelopments where we both have reseller accounts

I used stickers from prodpi - love the size but not the coating - I need to check if they have other coatings b/c when we put the bows (courtesy of the florist) the wire scratched them

The calendars are from CPQ - also a huge issue - I ordered 15 5x5s - thank goodness b/c about 5 of them scratched - any little thing scratched them - I love them but they won't make it - I have emailed CPQ about them

inside were 5x5 trifolds in pearl - they looked amazing. There was my preg one, nb one, nursing card and general pricing

I ordered double sided wallets pearl from pro dpi as gift cards- hands down my new fav product and I am ordering more as business cards - they are gorgeous -

Some background information - I have a 13 year old daughter in the 8th grade and I co-teach 6th grade girls at my church.

The lady I co-teach with (Sandy) and I are planning a lock-in for the Middle School girls at our church. The purpose of the event is to make the girls feel special and beautiful, both inside and out. We will have make-up artists, hair dressers, stylists and others to prep the girls for a photo shoot. (I'm sure you can quess who will do the photo shoot!) We are collecting vintage clothing to style the girls for the photo shoot. Not only will we have the outside beauty aspect, we will also have a meditation/worship aspect so the girls will know that they are beautiful on the inside, also.

Each girl will receive a 5x7 from the event. Sandy is pushing me to let the Moms order additional images if they want to. I don't look at this function/event as a money maker. Just as a way to give a boost of self-esteem to these girls. Example = My beautiful tall size 5 daughter thinks she is too fat and hates her nose.

The lock-in will take place February 5th on a Friday night. Since it is so close to Valentine's day and alot of time and effort are doing into it, my February promo will happen after Valentine's day. this was sent last night and its only 11am and we have 3 booked - 2 chose digi validay and the 3rd (who is a huge spender) wants the urban love plus a huge coffee table book ( she averages 12-1300 books each time she comes and she didn't do xmas this year)

My stats to this point are 34% open and read it. It went to 500 clients - we have 1800 so my goal is to get all 1800 on my email list this year - to do this we will be sending out a snail mail postcard.
